Clarifying the Theory of Berman's Metamorphosing Tendencies in the Translation of the Qur'an (Case study: Hossein Ansarian's Translation of Surah Baqarah)

Abstract

Translation is considered an important and fundamental process in today's era, and it consists of finding equivalent words of the target language for words of the source language in the original text, although sometimes it is enough to find equivalents in order to convey the general meaning of the speech; Therefore, the translator must evaluate the words and context of the translation and choose the best equivalent words one after the other. In addition, the way of arranging words and combining words to create an equivalent meaning is different from one language to another, and translating words in the order they appear in the source text may become meaningless in the target language. One of the issues that is important after translation is translation criticism, which seems very necessary. In this research, the translation of Professor Hossein Ansarian's translation of Surah Al-Baqarah and its clarification was investigated with the descriptive analytical method and the use of library sources, referring to the theory of "Antoine Berman's" structural-breaking tendencies, and it was concluded that he has four The author paid attention to "rationalization", "transparency", "rope" and "boasting" and presented his translation with this approach, and it is bound to the source text to a great extent.
