Abstract

Critical discourse analysis is a new and emerging branch of human knowledge that examines texts with a critical eye. Critical discourse analysis is a deep look and purposeful analysis that is done in order to recognize and create knowledge, and it is brought up in the discourse analysis of power relations and the investigation of discourse-oriented constructions. One of the areas of critical discourse analysis is Lacla and Chantal Mouffe's theory. Lacla and Mouffe's criticism examines the discourse structures of evidence and different discourse chains and examines prominent theorizing. The research is based on the descriptive and analytical method, and based on this method and within the framework of the critical theory of Lacla and Moff, it examines the letters of Imam Ali to Muawiyah. The present results indicate the fact that proving the legitimacy of the caliphate as well as proving the incompetence and incompetence of Muawiyah in office is against the central and central signs of his letters. There are other scattered and floating signs in the text of these letters that strengthen the central sign. The discourse constructions in these letters seek to legitimize the caliphate of Imam Ali and exclude and marginalize the rival discourse
