Abstract
Iranian art has always been closely related to Persian literature, which is one of its primary sources of inspiration. The earliest illustrated (illustrated literary) versions demonstrate the results of the ongoing convergence of Persian painting and literature, which had achieved a sort of harmony in their expression. Throughout the history of this land, the arts of speech, writing, book decoration, and illustration have never ceased to advance and undergo lasting change. Like other arts, clothing is regarded as one of the most visible cultural emblems. It is quickly influenced by events in human cultures and is seen in artists' works, whether on purpose or accidentally.
By concentrating on the textiles and applying a qualitative analysis to the motifs used on their garments, this field aims to investigate the epic and lyrical themes and answer the following question: how well are the epic and lyrical themes explained in the woven clothing of the Islamic era (Seljuq)? It is apparent that the clothing motifs of that era utilised epic notions like exaggeration, simplicity, and multiplicity.
