Nearly two-thirds of the verses of the Holy Quran are stories of the prophets and stories of the past. One of the theories put forward about the language of religion and the Quran is the symbolic and mythological theory, which results in attributing unreality to the stories of the Quran; a theory that was formed by the views of people such as Amin al-Khuli, Muhammad Ahmad Khalafallah, and Nasr al-Hamad Abu Zayd. This view has been criticized and refuted by Muslim researchers such as Sayyid Qutb and orientalists such as Gary Miller and... from various historical and archaeological angles. In this article, an attempt has been made to verify the authenticity of the historical stories of the Quran based on historical and archaeological data. The main question of the article is whether it is possible to prove the truth of the historical statements of the Quran based on historical and archaeological documents? The present study aims to eliminate and refute the suspicion of mythologizing the stories of the Quran with a descriptive-analytical approach and by citing archaeological statements and historical evidence related to the two tribes of Ad and Thamud. As a result, the latest findings of scientists indicate the correspondence of the details of the Quranic narrations with archaeological observations and the accuracy of the statements of the Quranic stories.
